Robert B. Pojasek, Ph.D.
Robert, a Senior Affiliate to IO Sustainability, works with corporations, their facilities and suppliers to implement integrated programs to manage sustainability, social responsibility, risk management, operations management, stakeholder engagement, context examination, business continuity, organizational resilience, compliance, environmental health and safety, code of conduct compliance, and sustainable procurement. He has also been involved in the development and implementation of community sustainability management programs. Pojasek has developed “software as a service” tools to facilitate the implementation and auditing of these programs. He is an advocate of making sustainability part of what every employee does every day rather than limiting the program to the implementation of sustainability initiatives.
He has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Corporate Responsibility Association and a member of the Board of Directors for the International Association of Sustainability Professionals. Pojasek is the author of “Organizational Risk Management and Sustainability: A Practical Step by Step Guide” published by Taylor and Francis at CRC Press. Pojasek teaches an online, open enrollment course (“Fundamentals of Organizational Sustainability”) at Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry – something that has come in handy with projects involving product stewardship and chemical contamination from industrial operations.
Practice Areas: include working with companies and investors to exchange ESG information that is supported by integrated management systems that can be independently audited. He also works with city governments to manage the participation of businesses and corporations in building successful sustainability programs and resilience plans.
