Kyle Newell is the founder and a partner at the Emerging Market Advisors (EMA) which he started in 2008. EMA has built a diverse body of work in scope around energy and commodities, emerging markets development, and private sector development. EMA has worked throughout Africa on topics arranging from working with corporations to creating shared value within their communities, developing the investment and operational strategy of early stage startups, and new product development, due diligence on investments, turning around strategy for companies, aiding foreign and domestic companies to reach the African market.
Kyle is a graduate of the Fletcher School and Purdue University with expertise in alternative energy, energy finance and policy, project finance, strategic management consulting, government relations, and over ten years of working and living in developing countries. He studied at the Lagos Business School and the Wits Business School in Johannesburg
He has worked on projects for the Eskom, Oando, P&G, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Climate Change Capital, Nedbank, Cytometry Laboratories and Discovery in Nigeria, South Africa, Haiti, and seven other African countries.
